Dear colleagues,                                                                                                                  

The humanity today is facing a big challenge to achieve Food and Environmental Security. The lack of water, the pollution and the climate changes are playing a major role in the problems related to food shortages and ecosystems disruption. The plants and animals are dramatically affected by the changes of the environment and hence, the food chain is at risk, but also the therapy based on medicinal plants (phytotherapy) is risking to lose precious bioactive compounds provided by plants in danger of extinction. Some other medicinal plants ar used in therapy but they may present also a toxic effect, their uses must be controlled. The first International Congress on Food and Environmental Security is designed to bring together researchers, professionals, university professors, doctors and students to discuss their latest practical works, studies and theorical items about Food and Environmental security. The Congress will focus attention on new ideas, activities and solutions to contribute in the improvement of the food and environmental security.
